What you have at hand in a support session
The tools the support person and the customer have during a session.
See and control
- View only, without controlling the computer
- Control with mouse and keyboard
- Full-screen view
Beside the screen
- Send your clipboard to the customer's computer
- Copy the customer's clipboard
- Chat with the customer
Quality and monitors
- Three quality modes: high, balanced and low-bandwidth
- Switch to the next monitor from the top bar
- On a weak computer, the app lowers quality by itself
Connect with code and PIN
- The customer gets the session code and PIN from the app
- The support person enters them in a browser
- The customer approves the connection
Access without the customer present
- Optional: in the app the customer turns on "unattended access" and sets a password
- The support person connects with the device ID and that password
- The customer's app must be open and online
If the picture is slow
- Set quality to "low-bandwidth"
- Change either side's network, or VPN
- Keep the customer's app up to date
The customer decides who connects
Customer approval
When the support person requests a connection, a message appears in the customer's app. They can accept or decline.
The customer's own code and PIN
The customer gets the session code and PIN from the app and hands them to the support person.
View only
The support person can look without controlling the mouse and keyboard.
Unattended, only with permission
Access without the customer present works only if they turned it on in the app and set a password.
What each side needs
A browser can't record the screen without repeated confirmations or control the mouse and keyboard, so the computer that is seen and controlled needs the desktop app.
